Current Openings

Driver, Per Diem/On-Call

We are seeking a driver to transport residents to medical appointments.

This position does not have a set schedule or guaranteed hours. Must be available Monday – Friday, between 9:00 am – 2:30 pm. Drivers are paid $62 for each 2-3 hour trip, which are scheduled in advance. Our drivers average 1-2 trips each week.

Transporting residents to appointments involves safely loading and unloading wheelchairs and locking them in place in the company provided vehicle. This position entails frequent bending and lifting.

Must have at least 6 years of driving experience and a clean driver’s license. Ideal position for retirees.

Nursing – Unit Assistants

We have several part-time openings for Unit Assistants to work on our care team. Perfect hours for students. Flexible part-time schedules (can accommodate class schedule). No experience needed - training provided

Job responsibilities:

Transporting residents in wheelchair to and from meals and activities
Assisting with feeding under a nurse’s supervision
Answering call bells and summoning nurses/nursing assistants as needed
Documenting nutrition information in the computer
Restocking toiletries in resident rooms
Providing social interaction and companionship to residents

Qualifications:

Must be dependable
Patience and compassion
Positive attitude and a friendly personality
Ability to work well as part of a team

Nursing – CNA Training Class

The next Certified Nursing Assistant Training Class at Maplewood will be coming soon. Please check back.

To be considered for our CNA Training Program, please submit a job application (click below to apply online). We will contact qualified candidates for interviews.

Those accepted into the program will receive pay while completing a training course to become a Certified Nursing Assistant here at The Maplewood. Upon completion of the Training Program and passing the exam, a CNA position will be provided at The Maplewood.

Nursing – Certified Nursing Assistants

We have several full time and part-time openings for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our care team. Day and evening shifts available. If you have a passion for caring for the elderly, this is the job for you.

Job responsibilities:

Provide daily care to residents including bathing, dressing, and other personal care tasks
Transport residents to meals and activities
Assist nurses with procedures and treatments
Assist with restorative therapy and rehabilitative care in collaboration with the Therapy Department
Perform clerical duties and document information in the computer
Assist family members and visitors

Qualifications:

Active New York State Certification
Compassion, a positive attitude and a friendly personality
Ability to work well as part of a team
Able to bend, lift and perform physical tasks

Working in a team environment, this position is responsible for all aspects of maintaining the cleanliness of the nursing home, as well as some laundry duties. All necessary training will be provided. Uniforms provided. Full benefits.

Dining Services – Chef de Cuisine, Full Time

Maplewood is seeking an energetic individual to serve as Chef de Cuisine. Steady hours, typically 35-40 hours per week. No seasonal fluctuations and all shifts are completed by 7:00pm.

General responsibilities include planning and directing preparation and culinary activities in our fine dining environment under the guidance of the Executive Chef. You will appreciate our stable staff of well-trained team members who enjoy their work. Administrative duties include compliance with all food safety and Department of Health requirements and general restaurant sanitation practices.

This is not your typical nursing home food service operation, rather it is one that more resembles a fine dining restaurant or a high end hotel. We aspire to provide an upscale dining experience for our 74 residents and their family and guests.

Pay starts at $25.00 per hour. Higher pay rate for experienced applicants.

Nursing – Assistant Director of Nursing, Full Time

The Maplewood is seeking an experienced RN to serve as Assistant Director of Nursing. The preferred candidate will have previously served in a supervisory role. A strong background in long term care will be an essential component for success in this position. Maplewood emphasizes an approach to organizational culture that strives to recognize people who work in the organization and bring out the best in people on the team. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys interacting with people and has strong communication capabilities.

Responsibilities include:

Supervision of the Nursing Department in conjunction with the Director of Nursing
Ability to develop and Implement Policy/Procedure
Oversee hiring of nursing staff and work with HR to evaluate appropriateness of applicants.
