COVID-19

A MESSAGE FROM GREG CHAMBERY, ADMINISTRATOR
As of today we have no known cases of COVID-19 in the resident or staff population.
We’ve had a couple of interactions with the Department of Health over the past several weeks.
On May 22nd, a group of people from the DOH arrived at The Maplewood for a surprise visit to conduct an Infection Control COVID-19 Focus Survey to determine if our facility was in compliance with Federal and State requirements. The surveyors found us to be in substantial compliance with zero deficiencies, and they made no new recommendations. This successful report confirms that the comprehensive protocols we’ve put in place encompass the appropriate measures for handling COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. We’ve worked hard on our infectious disease planning and I’m very proud of our team for achieving these terrific results.
On June 3rd, the DOH returned to our facility to perform COVID testing on our residents. Once again, we received good results, with zero residents testing positive. This information is reassuring and validates that our protection tactics have been effective in keeping our resident population free of the virus.
In addition, our staff has faithfully continued with mandatory testing. The initial executive order called for testing of all nursing home staff through June 9th. This mandate was updated last week and now requires this testing to continue through June 23rd. As mentioned above, the test results confirm that all of our staff is currently virus free.
I am happy to be able to share these positive results.
