Testimonials

The staff was wonderful and the setting was gorgeous. They were very loving and accommodating to my mom.

It is an excellent facility for your loved ones for both short and long-term care. Being a smaller facility, you get better one-on-one care. I appreciate the care my father receives and the staff treats me like family.

They offer a large variety of activities and they involve the residents in as much as possible. The staff is very friendly and it's an excellent facility.

The staff cares for her like she's their mother. It gives me great peace of mind.

It was like a five-star hotel! We liked everything. He had wonderful care. The nursing staff and physical therapy department were outstanding. The food was fantastic. He wished he could stay longer.

The facility is fabulous and well run. It's the best nursing home I've ever seen and I know I don't have to worry about my sister now that she's there.

They are very caring. They seem to care about the visitors as much as they care about the residents.

They are in constant communication with me and keep me informed on what's going on with my mom.

I appreciated the quality of care that she received and the commitment of the staff.

The staff was very caring and compassionate. They were like angels and were wonderful to me.

They do an amazing job caring for my dad and I like that they include family members in his care.

Everything was perfect. The whole staff was above and beyond excellent. Everyone was helpful and always cheerful.

Thanks to everyone for making my stay so comfortable. You have a beautiful facility and I certainly will recommend you to my friend, who may need short-term rehabilitation care.

Thank you all for the care and kindness given me during my rehabilitation at The Maplewood. You helped to quicken my recovery and made my stay a pleasant one.

Our thanks and gratitude we send to all of you for the love and care that you gave me during my stay at The Maplewood. Words simply are not sufficient. Please know that we were blessed to have found The Maplewood and its incredible staff.

It is with a heart full of appreciation that I thank you for my recent experience at The Maplewood. I'm hopeful that in some way you can affirm to the many employees that what they do and how they do it makes a real difference in patients' lives.

The physical therapists that worked with me were wonderful. Not only skilled, they were encouraging, kind and realistic. The nursing staff attended to me frequently, competently and compassionately. The two aides who were there most often to assist me were a breath of fresh air, which they brought to day's beginning and end!

I could go on and on, but shall refer briefly to the other two areas that stood out: food service and house-keeping. In addition to initial food planning with your staff, the attentiveness of the servers was very impressive. And the ladies who cleaned my room? I've never gotten a good-bye hug from a house-keeping employee before in my life! Enough said…

I can't think of a thing to improve. In my opinion, this is the best nursing home in the Rocheter area.

How could I offer suggestions to improve The Maplewood? You've done it all! The Maplewood is beautiful and it felt like I had come home during my stay.

Just wanted you to know how much our group from Buffalo enjoyed the tour of Maplewood last Friday.  The prevailing impression among us was simply, “Wow.”  I just have to add that all of your staff could not have been more polite and gracious to us.  I could see how you would be so very proud of your family’s history and the great strides you’ve made in making The Maplewood “Distinctly Different.”

We couldn’t have picked a better place or better caregivers than you—from the office staff, therapy people, activity group, dining room, chefs, nurses, aides, cleaning staff, and you all became our friends.  We will miss you and be forever grateful to all of you.  We came as strangers and left as family.

– The Partridges

When I entered the doors of Maplewood, I told my friend who had brought me that she must have gone to the wrong place as this was a resort, not a nursing home.  The cleanliness, the décor, the friendliness of the staff were such a welcome surprise.  I was made so comfortable by your staff from the first step into Maplewood.  They just took all my fear that I had from the previous experience in a nursing home away.  Your staff was one of the most pleasant experiences I had not only in a nursing home, but any hospital stay.  Your nurses, aides, staff, physical and occupational therapists were absolutely wonderful.

– Barbara A. Zaccaria-Kutchuk

When a CNA can just treat a resident like “her Grandma,” both are better served.  You have a bunch of exceptional CNAs and I’d especially like to thank Marisol (Maddy) from nights.  She is my “Grandma theory” personified.

– Julia Moberg

I was very pleased with my stay at the Maplewood.  The only change I would make would be to rate the Maplewood from a 5-star to a 6-star facility.  Keep up the good work.

– Fred Stenges

Our family celebrated my mother’s 93rd birthday with a luncheon in your newly decorated dining room/bar area on Saturday, December 11.  We would like to thank Mike, Adil and Brandon along with the other dining services staff who helped to make the party a big success.  The food was delicious with a very nice selection for all.  Brandon was an excellent server, providing quick service for spills, extra drinks, etc, and interacted in a most appropriate manner with all, ages 2-93!  The newly decorated bar area provided plenty of room for the 14 of us to gather for lunch but also a nice sitting area for us to watch Mom open her gifts.

Maplewood is truly “a place above” most nursing homes and I just wanted you to know how much it meant to me to think of Jim in such a great facility—receiving so much care and love.

– Elizabeth Smith

We would like to express our appreciation for the superior care Dad received while at Maplewood.  Everyone we came in contact with demonstrated dedication, compassion and a commitment to resident care that places them at the pinnacle of their profession.  In the two and one-half years that Dudley was with you, he had only positive comments regarding the marvelous folks who were taking such good care of him.  You are to be commended for assembling such a staff of exceptional health care professionals.

– Dudley Ince, Jr., and Bonnie Ince

We wish you all could have known the person our dad was before Parkinsons changed his life, but we know you appreciated him, understood him and cared for him when he was so in need of your help.  We hope you know that you all are the greatest people and we feel so lucky to have had dad in your care.

– Jane Finch and John Heidenreich

How can I begin to thank you for being our salvation during one of the worst times in our lives?  Bringing my mom to Maplewood from the hospital was the lifeline in a sea of fear and uncertainty.  I cannot begin to tell you how much I love it here.  Everything has been the absolute best it could be.  I love Lisa, the nurses, the CNAs, the therapists, the dining room staff and even the food.

I am so impressed by their skill, efficiency, kindness and compassion.  I feel they will always have a special place in my heart and will be my friends forever.
