Giving Thanks for 70 Years of The Maplewood Family

By Greg Chambery, Administrator

2017 marks a very special year at the Maplewood – We are celebrating our 70th year of service to the Rochester community. I look back and realize that we have so much to be thankful for.

The Maplewood is an extended family made up of residents, families, friends, staff and volunteers. All of us are blessed to know incredible residents who truly enrich our lives. We enjoy time together, sharing past memories and making some new ones. We are also fortunate to partner with a supportive group of residents’ families and friends. When it comes to our staff and volunteers, I have a great sense of pride as I watch them come together each day in their common goal of providing each resident with the best possible care and quality of life. It is wonderful to witness such camaraderie in the workplace.

As we enter the holiday season, I think about the devotion and commitment that led my grandparents to open the Maplewood in 1947. My parents shared that same devotion when they operated the Maplewood, and today it continues to guide everything we do.

Family and wonderful people caring for wonderful people. It certainly gives us a lot to be thankful for.
