If you’ve stopped by recently, you might have noticed a few new faces in our Therapy Department. Physical Therapist, Liz Benedict, MS, PT, has been in her new position for the last several months working with both long-term care residents and rehabilitation patients.

Liz comes to us with plenty of experience, including over 16 years of nearly every aspect of physical therapy as well several years of covering weekend, per diem shifts here. “I absolutely love working with the elderly,” Liz says and adds that she appreciates The Maplewood’s proactive, holistic team approach to care.

Liz is originally from the southern tier of New York and is married with two school-age children. In addition to skiing, she enjoys working out and being involved with her children’s activities.

Also new is Therapy Assistant Cindy Taber. Cindy works mostly with our long-term care residents, helping to preserve range of motion. Though she spent much of her working years in other fields like manufacturing and raising her children, she was happy to join The Maplewood four years ago as a CNA. “This is where I was supposed to end up,” she says and adds that she loves working with the high quality of people here, including both residents and staff.

Cindy lives in eastern side of Greater Rochester with her husband and teenage children and is a self-described soccer mom.
